I think that, in a past life, I was somehow involved in the music industry. Music is a huge passion of mine! Concerts, albums, recommended by friends, found by accident, it doesn't matter - let me at it.
From the little research that I did, Tupac was gone before the first Coachella ('96 and '99, respectively), so I'm curious to know how he's able to give a shoutout to Coachella specifically... I guess it's just the marvels of modern technology?
Wired.com informs me that, the hologram effect was "actually rear-projection on a semi-transparent screen" and that Nate Dogg was supposed to get the hologram treatment as well... but, uh, didn't. Poor Mr. Dogg. The company that rap fans everywhere can thank for this hologram tribute is from Britain - Musion. They've even created a hologram of Prince Charles. Sorry, if I'm going to have a hologram of any prince, it's Prince William. #JustSayin

Okay, it's not exactly a dance party extravaganza.
However, it's pretty damn close. I work with special needs high school students, and we've been having a gym teacher run an "aerobics" class for them twice a week for the last few months. I put aerobics in quotations because it's really more of a "dance around the room for an hour" time. Can't really complain about it too much, really. I get paid to "dance around the room for an hour" with kids who crack me up. Better yet, the kids really seem to like it.
Story of my life.
The gym teacher's sessions with us end in a week or so, but we are going to try to continue it on our own, and lead the students in our own version of "aerobics" - zumba videos, aerobics videos, general dance-around-the-room-fun-time-ness. It's gonna be a fantastic time. Here's the playlist that I've started to put together from my iTunes collection; I originally had it about twice as long, but then realized that a bunch of songs were slightly inappropriate. Ah, $#%&.

Back a few years ago (in my past life, as I refer to it), I was putting together a birthday gift for the guy I was dating. He and I were both really into music and went to a lot of concerts together, and when we could, we'd stay after shows to get autographs or go to CD signing events. I had an idea to take his signed album covers and have put them in a frame. I decided to do the same with mine, but haven't hung it up in my apartment yet... actually, I never got around to hanging it up in my last apartment, either. Hmm. Maybe I'll get on that.
Anyways, my musical tastes have since expanded, but I think it's kinda fun to look back at what I was listening to a few years ago. I don't listen to BNL as much anymore, Guster still has a place on my iPod, and of course, my friends in The Last Goodnight will always be on there, even if it's just Kurtis John doing his own thing now. Graham Colton has since started to do his own solo thing, and I'm diggin' what he's doing.
