Here's what I'm listening to this week. Missed a few weeks, oops! Getting into the swing of things with a new job and a new commute, which means sometimes I'm in the car and sometimes I'm on the train. Different music in different places, which I'm not mad about!
- Imagine Dragons - Demons - This comes on my car radio and I can't help but turn it up. I love it.
- Wyclef Jean - Gone Till November - I didn't realize how much of the lyrics I remembered! Hey 1997, you had some good beats. Wyclef, you ain't so bad yourself.
- Ryan Adams & The Cardinals - Magick
- U2 - Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World - Can Bono do any wrong?
- Ryan Lewis and Macklemore - Can't Hold Us - Perfect song choice for a commercial (it's been used in at least 1 or 2).

- Bad Rabbits - Doin' It - Congrats to these local boys on the success of this track and of their new record! They're getting all kinds of great publicity - MTV Buzzworthy has written about them here. Check 'em out!

- Fiction Family - Up Against The Wall - A great live version of this. FF is made up of the frontman from Switchfoot and the guitarist from Nickel Creek. Lots of talent coming together!
- Spacehog - In the Meantime - I feel like I heard this during a '90s hour or something recently. Hey, 1994, heyyyyyy.
- The Wombats - Jump Into the Fog
- Mayer Hawthorne - Finally Falling - I was in Sports Authority when I heard this song. Not the place I imagined that would have this song on a playlist, but gosh darn it, I was glad to hear it.

- The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather - This is from my friend Amy's Pick of the Week over on Radio 92.9. I don't have to tell any of you fellow New Englanders that it's definitely sweater season in these parts, and the '60s-'70s beach rock vibe is big now, so I'm diggin' this one. Good pick, Amy!

- Imagine Dragons - Radioactive - a nice juxtaposition to "It's Time"; it shows what else this band is capable of giving listeners. I'm certainly pickin' up what they're puttin' down.
- Wilco - Dawned On Me - "I've been lost/ I've been found/ I've been taken/ by the sound/ My own worries/ and voices in my head..."
- Brett Dennen - Closer To You - I love when artists put out these raw, real videos and allow the natural sound of the location where they're shooting the video to come through.
- Travis - Selfish Jean - I like the comedian Demetri Martin. I like this song. Demetri Martin is in the video. It's all coming together.
- Milo Greene - 1957 - I love the story behind the band name just as much as I am loving getting to know this band's music. They made a short film to accompany their album. Dreamy, cinematic, indie pop... who do you think they sound like?

- A Silent Film - Harbour Lights - They're pretty great live, as I featured a few weeks ago.
- Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop - Dance.
- Bonus - "Same Love", the first track from this NPR Tiny Desk Concert/All Songs Considered segment - not the safest for tiny ears, but my boyfriend suggested I check it out, and I'm glad I did. Check it, yo.
- Keane - Sovereign Light Cafe - something from Keane I haven't heard before.
- Alpha Rev - Sing Loud - a beautiful, driving beat and a sweet song. I'd love to see Alpha Rev someday.
- Capital Cities - Safe and Sound - I'm hearing a touch of City and Colour here, anyone else?

- Civil Twilight - River - "Take a little dive into the river baby/ I don't mind..."
- Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats - This version of this beautiful song game up on the Gomez channel on Pandora. The original by The Knife reminds me a lot of something from Grimes.
- Local Natives - Wide Eyes - the video, on first viewing, makes me think that it's about finally coming to terms with and facing your fears, but reading other listeners' takes on it makes me go back and re-listen and watch.
- Mumford & Sons - Lover of the Light - "But I'd be yours if you'd be mine..."
- Eels - I Like Birds - a cute little ditty that I heard while watching The Big Year.

- Yeasayer - Longevity - a bit of psychedelic pop that makes me want groove in the driver's seat... don't judge.
- The Jayhawks - Waiting for the Sun - Tom Petty influence, anyone?
- Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know - I love the interpretive '80s exercise video dancing.
- Damian Marley - All Night ft. Stephen Marley - I don't care which Marley it is, I love it. Dance party time!
- Robert DeLong - Global Concepts - I guess I must be in a dance party mood lately, huh? This one is sorta #NSFW, if you have little ears around.
Here's what I'm listening to this week. I hope that, if you're reading this, you are safe amidst the hurricane madness that's hit the East Coast. It's been a tad scary in my area outside Boston, but it's nothing compared to what's in NYC and NJ. Be safe, friends.
Churchill - Change - It starts at about 0:37. This video is interesting - listen to what the guy says just before the music starts. I think it's a pretty cool concept.
Bob Schneider - 40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet) - "It's not as easy as I said it'd be, but there’s something right about you and me..."
Trampled by Turtles - Alone - Just a sweet, simple, reflective song.
Ben Folds Five - Mess - I'd never heard this BFF song before.
The Shins - Australia - "Dare to be one of us, girl, facing the android's conundrum..."

Here's what I'm listening to this week:
- Snow Patrol - This Isn't Everything You Are - I think that this song came into my mind recently when dealing with tough times with my chronic illness. The title is true, chronic illness doesn't have to define who you are, even if it's hard to see past it at times. Music is the best medicine!
- Ed Sheeran - Lego House - Okay, even though he's blown up on every Top-40 radio station and looks like the redhead from Harry Potter (at least in this video), this song caught my attention yesterday. I could also just be a sucker for a cute love song here and there...
- Guster - Homecoming King - I've always had love for Guster for years, and this song makes me think back to college when the album, Keep It Together, came out. I was still pretty new to Massachusetts, and the state gets a shout-out... stuck in my mind from that point on, I guess!
- Susan Tedeschi - Back to the River - Um, have you heard the voice on this woman? Sing it, Susan.
- Stars - Take Me To The Riot - Been listening to them a lot lately for some reason! Missed their Boston show, which was a bummer. I need to see them again! They put on such a great show, really a must-see.
